From the Airport (Vancouver)

Once in Whistler

From the US Border:

Via Freeway

Take the "truck crossing" (Pacific Hwy) on the US side of the border (shortly before the "Douglas" border crossing)

  • Follow Highway 15 (176th St.) to Hwy #1 - approx 10 miles;
  • Take Hwy 1 Westbound (towards Vancouver);
  • Follow all the way through Vancouver and various suburbs;
  • In North Vancouver stay on the freeway (past Taylor Way exit to downtown) and continue on to Horseshoe Bay;
  • At this point you take the last exit to the right to "Squamish, Whistler" (Highway 99), follow all the way to Whistler.
  • Approximate driving time from border 2 1/2 hours;

Via Highway 99:

  • Stay on the I-5 all the way to the Douglas Border Crossing;
  • Continue on the 99 all the way through Vancouver;
  • You will have to make a couple of turns on your way:
  • In Vancouver, follow Oak Street all the way to Broadway and then turn left;
  • After a few blocks, turn right at the traffic light at Hemlock Street;
  • Hemlock will lead onto the Granville Street Bridge;
  • At the end of the bridge, stay right onto Seymour Street;
  • After approximately 8 blocks, turn left onto Georgia Street;
  • Georgia Street is Hwy 99, follow it through Stanley Park, over the Lions Gate Bridge;
  • Follow the signs towards "West Vancouver, Horseshoe Bay Ferries, Squamish and Whistler";
  • At Taylor way, turn right up the hill until you reach the freeway (#1 and #99) and take the freeway Westbound (left hand turn);
  • Follow the Highway to Horseshoe Bay;
  • At this point you take the last exit to the right to "Squamish, Whistler" (Highway 99), follow all the way to Whistler.

From the Airport:

  • Follow signs to downtown Vancouver, from the airport you will start on Grant McConachie Way;
  • Take the Arthur Laing Bridge and follow the exit to "Granville Street";
  • Follow Granville St. all the way to downtown Vancouver;
  • You will cross Granville Street Bridge;
  • At the end of the bridge, stay right onto Seymour Street;
  • After approximately 8 blocks, turn left onto Georgia Street;
  • Georgia Street is Hwy 99, follow it through Stanley Park, over the Lions Gate Bridge;
  • Follow the signs towards "West Vancouver, Horseshoe Bay Ferries, Squamish and Whistler";
  • At Taylor way, turn right up the hill until you reach the freeway (#1 and #99) and take the freeway Westbound (left hand turn);

  • Approximate driving time to Whistler is 2 1/4 hours. (add 1 hour during rush hour!)

Vancouver to Whistler

Travel Time:
Vancouver to Whistler - approximately 1 1/2 - 2 hours

Distance:
approx. 160 kilometres or 100 miles

Directions:
Follow Highway 1 West toward Horseshoe Bay. Before Horseshoe Bay, take the Squamish - Whistler exit (#0 or 1), onto Hwy. 99 North, also known as the Sea to Sky Highway.

Once on Hwy 99 North, past Horseshoe Bay, the trip to Whistler can vary depending on road conditions and traffic. Remain on Hwy 99 North until you reach Whistler.

Take your time as you will pass by several lakes, towns and view points along the way. Two major viewpoints include Black Tusk and Shannon Falls.

You will pass through various Whistler Neighborhoods en-route to Whistler Village and Alpine Meadows. These are marked by large wooden signboards at the neighborhood entrances. Driving from Vancouver to Whistler, you'll pass them in the following order: Function Junction, Bayshores, Whistler Creek (Creekside), Nordic Estates, Alta Vista, Blueberry Hill, Brio, Whistler Village, Whistler Cay Heights, Whistler Cay, White Gold Estates, Nesters, Spruce Grove, Nicklaus North, Alpine Meadows, and Emerald Estates.
 

 

Once in Whistler

  • Stay on Highway 99 and drive past the main village;
  • After about five minutes, you will pass "Nicklaus North Golf Course" on your right hand side and then "Meadow Park Sports Complex" on your left after another 100 Metres (110 yds)
  • After another 100 Metres (110 yds), turn left at the traffic light (Alpine Way);
  • Turn left at the next stop sign (Rainbow Drive);
  • Turn left again at the next stop sign (Camino Drive);
  • There are only two houses on the left hand side of Camino, we are the second one (on the corner of Camino and Cedar Springs Rd), Turn left off Camino into our parking lot at the sign "CEDAR SPRINGS B&B LODGE". WELCOME!!!
